History
Paige Nowlin attended nursing school at Galen College of Nursing in 2012 for her LVN diploma and also in 2020 for her Associates degree in nursing/RN. She started working at a skilled nursing facility in New Braunfels, Texas as a LVN when she graduated. She worked there for two and a half years as a charge nurse but decided she wanted to pursue a career in teaching. She immediately fell in love with the teaching profession and has been an instructor for over 5 years for our Nurse Aide and Phlebotomy Programs. In 2021 Paige officially transitioned to her new role as program director of Career Academy of Training, LLC
Dawn Castillo began her career as a substitute teacher in 2007 and also quickly fell in love with teaching. After several years of teaching she began taking a few pre nursing classes. She went on to became a CNA, Medication Aide and Phlebotomist all in 2016. Phlebotomy is her favorite class so when she was presented with the opportunity to teach it she was in love! Dawn has now been creating curriculum and teaching Phlebotomy for over 8 years. When Dawn is not teaching she is a huge asset to our team in her role of Assistant Office Manager.
Melissa Pfanenstiel became a CNA in 2013 and a CPR instructor in 2014. She began working in administration for a local school in 2013. She became very passionate about helping individuals within her community. Melissa began to assist students with reviewing for their state and national exams. After several years she decided she wanted to be her own boss and open her own school. She approached Dawn Castillo and Paige Nowlin with the idea of Career Academy of Training. A few months later at Melissa's dining room table the three formulated a plan and put that plan into action. Career Academy of Training, LLC was established on March 2, 2018. Here we are today successfully working and teaching together.

Facilities and Equipment
Career Academy of Training, LLC is located at 101 Uhland Rd Ste 106, San Marcos TX, 78666. Our school is 3,700 square feet and has access to four public restrooms on the same floor and four more public restrooms on the upper level. The school has an office, waiting area, three classrooms which seat 12 to 15 students, a clinical NATCEP lab and a Phlebotomy lab. The clinical NATCEP lab has two hospital beds, wheelchair, shelf with supplies needed for Nurse Aide Training, bedside commode, sink, scale, and all other supplies needed. The Phlebotomy lab has a draw table and two draw chairs, and shelving with all other supplies needed for Phlebotomy in San Marcos.
