Our Leadership Team
Paige Nowlin – Program Director
Paige earned her LVN diploma from Galen College of Nursing in 2012 and her Associate Degree in Nursing/RN in 2020. She began her career as a charge nurse at a skilled nursing facility in New Braunfels, Texas, before discovering her passion for teaching. Paige has been an instructor since 2017, teaching Nurse Aide and Phlebotomy programs, and officially became the Program Director of Career Academy of Training, LLC in 2021.
Dawn Castillo – Phlebotomy Instructor & Assistant Office Manager
Dawn began her career as a substitute teacher in 2007 and soon found her passion for education. She became a CNA, Medication Aide, and Phlebotomist in 2016, and has been creating curriculum and teaching Phlebotomy for over 8 years. Dawn also supports the academy as Assistant Office Manager.
Melissa Pfanenstiel – Co-Founder & Administrator
Melissa became a CNA in 2013 and a CPR instructor in 2014. With a background in school administration and a passion for helping her community, she assisted students with exam preparation and eventually co-founded Career Academy of Training, LLC. On March 2, 2018, Melissa, along with Paige Nowlin and Dawn Castillo, launched the academy. She continues to oversee operations and ensure the success of both students and staff making her an invaluable asset to our team.

Our Campus
Career Academy of Training, LLC is located at 101 Uhland Rd, Ste 104, San Marcos, TX 78666. Our 2,750 sq. ft. facility is designed to provide a professional, comfortable, and fully equipped learning environment.
Facilities Include:
- Three classrooms accommodating 12–25 students
- Clinical NATCEP Lab with two hospital beds, wheelchair, bedside commode, sink, scale, and all supplies needed for Nurse Aide Training
- Phlebotomy Lab with a draw table, multiple draw chairs, and fully stocked supplies
- Office and waiting area
- Access to four public restrooms on the same floor and four additional restrooms on the upper level
Our campus is designed to support hands-on learning while ensuring student comfort and accessibility throughout the facility.
