Seminar Description: Phlebotomy Training to prepare you with hands on, guided practice to provide safe, quality venipunctures and dermal punctures for accurate diagnostic test results.

Seminar Objectives: 

· Infection Control

· Dermal Punctures using Microhematocrit Tubes

· Identify and prepare an acceptable site

· Determine the needed supplies and equipment

· Follow the Order of Draw

· Ensure patient safety by recognizing and responding to potential complications

· Palpating Using a Tourniquet

· Properly perform venipunctures and dermal punctures

· Identify and dispose of sharps and biohazards according to the Bloodborne Pathogens Standard

· Properly balance the centrifuge

· Prepare peripheral blood smears

Seminar Description: Phlebotomy training to prepare students with the necessary knowledge to pass the National Healthcareer Association Certified Phlebotomy Technician exam.

Seminar Objectives: 

· Demonstrate sufficient knowledge of phlebotomy 

· Drug Testing

· Demonstrate readiness for the NHA CPT exam

· Complete phlebotomy log
